Vehicle Location Heading

This release adds a heading field to vehicle location data, giving you access to the direction of travel for each vehicle alongside existing position data.
Backward-compatible addition: Existing integrations are unaffected. The heading field is a new optional property in location responses.

Schema Changes

A new heading property has been added to the BaseVehicleLocation schema and propagated to the VehicleLocationAdded event payload.Affected schemas:
  • BaseVehicleLocation — new heading property
  • VehicleLocationAdded.data[].heading — new property on each location item in the event
Example response (vehicle location):
The heading value represents the direction of travel in degrees (0–359), where 0 is north, 90 is east, 180 is south, and 270 is west.
