# v2.20.0 - Vehicle Location Heading

> Adds heading field to vehicle location data

## Vehicle Location Heading

This release adds a `heading` field to vehicle location data, giving you access to the direction of travel for each vehicle alongside existing position data.

  **Backward-compatible addition:** Existing integrations are unaffected. The `heading` field is a new optional property in location responses.

### Schema Changes

    A new `heading` property has been added to the `BaseVehicleLocation` schema and propagated to the `VehicleLocationAdded` event payload.

    **Affected schemas:**

    * `BaseVehicleLocation` — new `heading` property
    * `VehicleLocationAdded.data[].heading` — new property on each location item in the event

    **Example response (vehicle location):**

      "heading": 270
    }
    ```

    The `heading` value represents the direction of travel in degrees (0–359), where 0 is north, 90 is east, 180 is south, and 270 is west.
