# v2.92.0 - Vehicle License Plate & VIN Filtering

> New license_plate_numbers, license_plate_regions, and vins query parameters added to the vehicles endpoint for filtering by plate or VIN

## Vehicle license plate & VIN filtering

Three new optional query parameters have been added to `GET /v2/telematics/vehicles`, allowing you to filter the vehicles list directly by license plate number, license plate region, or VIN. Previously, retrieving vehicles by these identifiers required fetching all vehicles and filtering client-side.

All three parameters are optional and backward-compatible — existing requests that omit them continue to behave exactly as before.

### Affected endpoint

### New parameters

| Parameter | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `license_plate_numbers` | array of strings | Filter vehicles to those matching any of the supplied license plate numbers. |
| `license_plate_regions` | array of strings | Filter vehicles to those registered in any of the supplied regions (e.g. state or province codes). |
| `vins` | array of strings | Filter vehicles to those matching any of the supplied VINs. |

### Usage

Filter by one or more VINs:

```bash theme={null}
GET /v2/telematics/vehicles?vins=1HGBH41JXMN109186&vins=2T1BURHE0JC034321
```

Filter by license plate number:

```bash theme={null}
GET /v2/telematics/vehicles?license_plate_numbers=ABC1234&license_plate_numbers=XYZ5678
```

Filter by license plate region:

```bash theme={null}
GET /v2/telematics/vehicles?license_plate_regions=CA&license_plate_regions=TX
```

Combine filters — for example, all vehicles with a specific plate registered in a given region:

```bash theme={null}
GET /v2/telematics/vehicles?license_plate_numbers=ABC1234&license_plate_regions=CA
```

All three parameters can be combined with other supported query parameters such as `from_datetime`, `to_datetime`, `q`, `match`, and pagination parameters.
